Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports
“At Lakeshore Middle School, we are Excellent, Kind, Respectful, and Responsible. That’s how we roll at the school by the shore.”
Kevin Polston, Principal
Students at Lakeshore Middle School are EXCELLENT, KIND, RESPECTFUL, AND RESPONSIBLE. Students and staff having these expectations for one another make LMS a place where students want to come to school. In fact, just recently a new student who attended Lakeshore for only two days was overheard telling a staff member, “I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!” There are many reasons why LMS is a great place to receive an education. We believe one of them is due to our implementation of School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports that began in the fall of the 2011-2012 school year. You might ask, “What are Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports?” You have come to the right place to find out!
One of our goals at LMS is to increase open communication with our families and community members to keep them updated and involved in what is happening within the school walls. This section of Lakeshore’s website is dedicated to educating parents and guardians on the basic ideas of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. You will also find links to other resources that provide tips and tools that can help with implementing PBIS strategies in the home. If you have any questions about PBIS and what it looks like at Lakeshore Middle School, do not hesitate to contact one of the members of our School Improvement Committee under the Contact Us section.
